What Do I Need To Do To Put On A Race Or Fun Run In My Community?
If the race is to raise money for your community, people will often donate their time and business services. If you have a local running club they will be your bet for help and expertise. I am considering putting together a 5k

I am the director for one of the three group homes around the Hawthorne Center. I am considering putting together a 5k and walk, but not too sure where to start. We have 10 homes throughout Galesburg and 120 total in Illinois, so I do know I would have quite a bit of support. I think it be a great fundraising event for our homes. It'd also be great if it took place around the Hawthorne Center, as our homes would be located along the run. Any guidance would be appreciated.

want to do a 2k run around Boston for about 50 people

There is a company coming to Boston in April of 2012 and they want to do a 2k run around Boston for about 50 people. I had a couple questions concerning how you go about setting up a race like this. How do we get the numbers?, How do you take accurate results?, Is there permitting involved if we were to do the race along the Charles river?
